Simple Easter Wreath

So I love wreaths. I actually hang them on the inside and outside of the front door. Why you ask? Well I don't spend very much time at my front door on the outside, so I like to look at the work I've done. I found a wreath that I really liked and it looked easy, but I decided to make some cost effective (and time also) modifications to it and it turned out really cute if I do say so myself. This is actually currently hanging on the inside of my front door right now.

Here is the pin that I found:

This was a project from http://verytrulyme.blogspot.com/2013/01/march-adoorable-decor.html

I liked it, but not so much into the yarn wrapping, so I modified my wreath with burlap, since I really like it (smell isn't so great at first, but it goes away).

 1)2.) 3)

So here are my items:
1). Burlap (actually jute) from Michael's Online or in-store for $4.89/roll http://www.michaels.com/ashland-burlap-garland-tight-weave/10276106.html#q=burlap&start=6

2). Pool Noodle from the Dollar Tree $1, you'll need 3 pieces of felt sold in squares at most craft stores and cost anywhere from $0.23-0.29 each (in complementary colors of your choosing), packing tape, glue gun, white acrylic paint, and

 Directions:
Cut about 8 inches off of the pool noodle and use packing tape in a criss-cross wrap to hold ends together. Wrap burlap around the wreath form you have now created overlapping frequently to cover completely and use the glue gun to glue into place at the beginning and the end. Paint the cute little bunny white or whichever color you prefer. The felt flowers can be done a variety of ways and you can look up videos to get as intricate as you have time for. I chose two very simple ways to do them and it worked out pretty well. First I did a rosette type pattern:

Fairly easy. Start by cutting out a circular shape and then spiral  cut it into the center like in the picture. Then wind the spiral from the outer cut in and you have a rosette. Glue in place and you have a flower. You can also do a mum flower pattern like I did on the finished product below and it is also very VERY easy to do. I do my flowers and glue as I go to make sure that I like the placement and color scheme, also to fill in the way that I like.

Here is the finished product:

Pin Pass or Fail?

I'm gonna pass this. First, it was way easier than to wrap yarn over and over and over and over and over etc.. You have a very similar effect with burlap. Next, pass for the very lovely low cost:

Burlap $4.89
Bunny $0.59
Felt $0.87 for 3 sheets/3 colors
Pool Noodle $1.00
The rest of the supplies are things I have on hand.

Total Cost:$7.35 plus supplies used

Pin PASS, Cost Factor $ under $10

Easter Decor

Ok, so it is Easter time and I LOVE decorating for the big fat bunny that visits. I pin like a mad woman well in advance so that I can make everything I love for Easter, right? Never seem to get all my projects done and out in the house in time. This year, I did a little bit better. So here is the pin:
What I really loved about this pin was that it was 1) Easter and 2) Has orchids in it. I have a whole lot of orchid stems from my wedding over 10 years ago that have been sitting, and sitting, and sitting (you get the picture) with absolutely nothing to use them for. So I thought it would be great to actually use them. I also had a few other things that I could use, so it turned out to be a very budget friendly project for me, Yay!
